Story

Sri Lanka is one of the best wildlife destinations on earth. Leopards in Yala. Elephants gathering by the hundreds at Minneriya. Blue whales off Mirissa. Sloth bears, crocodiles, and hundreds of bird species across the island.

And then above it all — the highlands. Misty, green, impossibly beautiful. Tea estates stretching across every hillside. The smell of rain on warm earth.

This journey takes you through both worlds. Twelve days moving from coast to jungle to highland and back again — guided by naturalists who know every corner of the island.

Arrival in Colombo

Airport welcome. Transfer to Colombo. Welcome dinner and first introductions.

Day

Colombo to Minneriya

Drive north. Afternoon game drive at Minneriya National Park — famous for the elephant gathering, one of the largest wild elephant congregations on earth.

Minneriya

Full day in and around the national park. Morning and evening game drives. Bird watching at dawn along the tank shore.

Sigiriya & Dambulla

Morning climb of Sigiriya rock fortress. Afternoon at Dambulla cave temples. Night in the cultural triangle.

Drive to Nuwara Eliya

Through the highlands as the landscape shifts from dry scrub to endless green. Tea factory visit. Arrival in Nuwara Eliya at golden hour.

Tea Highlands

Full day exploring tea country. Walk through an estate at dawn before the mist lifts. Tasting session. Free afternoon in the cool mountain air.

Ella

Drive to Ella through some of the most scenic landscape on the island. Nine Arch Bridge at sunset. Ella Rock hike option for those who want it.

Ella to Yala

Drive south through the lowlands. Afternoon arrival and check-in at your Yala safari lodge.

Yala National Park

Full day safari — Sri Lanka leopard, elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles, and hundreds of bird species. Sri Lanka has the highest leopard density of any national park in the world.

Yala to South Coast

Morning game drive. Drive west to Mirissa. Afternoon on the beach.

Mirissa

Whale watching at dawn — blue whales and spinner dolphins. Afternoon free on the beach. Farewell dinner together.
